Welcome to the parish website for St. Adalbert / Sts. Peter and Paul in Elizabeth, NJ.
This new parish was erected on July 1, 2009 and was created from two parishes: St. Adalbert (Polish parish since 1905) and Sts. Peter and Paul (Lithuanian parish since 1895).
The new parish has two very unique and very beautiful churches. As Pastor, I invite you to visit these beautiful places and meet your fellow parishioners in the day-to-day worship of God and at parish events, as well as at our social gatherings.
Our mission is to reach out to all people and encourage them to join us in joyfully giving praise and glory to God; to build a Christian community that, with trust in God, embraces the future and in doing so, is a beacon of faith, hope, and love around us.
As Catholics, we draw our strength and inspiration from the Holy Eucharist, our source and summit.
Pope John Paul II wrote in his Encyclical, Ecclesia de Eucharistia, “Our plan is found in the Gospel and in the living Tradition. Ultimately, it has as its center, Christ himself, who is to be known, loved and imitated...”
The St. Adalbert / Sts. Peter and Paul parish community is very diverse. We celebrate the Eucharist in three languages: English, Polish and in Lithuanian. If you visit our churches you will meet parishioners who come together to relish each other's common faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. As Christ is in solidarity with us, we are in solidarity with each other.
